Today was Easter Sunday, though that really doesn't mean anything to me since I'm not religious, and I've long since stopped enjoying hunting for vinegary, technicolor eggs. Oh, I guess there are bunnies, but whatever. Since I had the day off, I wanted to spend most of it lazing about in bed, but my family had other plans and by lunchtime we found ourselves picnicking in a park by the ocean. Seeing the sea is always nice, but spending time outdoors always makes me *yawn* tired. All I really want at this point is a decent night's rest.
So, as I've recently acquired a Felicia Blue PSP, I've been checking out some titles for the PSP and these two caught my eye:
The graphics are pretty simple, and it's completely in b&w, and dude look at it! It's like playing in an M.C. Escher drawing!
It comes with a camera so you can take pictures of your clothes, and it can supposedly keep track of your closet and you can even coordinate outfits. It seems to have a lot of fun little features like finding what colors suit you best, create graphs of your inventory based on color, type and season, and even a love-indicator thing and horoscopes, etc.
I've been too busy lately for games but I popped in on play-asia to check out some videogames and found a few that I am interested in. Such as, Wish Room (the english version = Hotel Dusk), which sounds just up my alley. It's from the same company that released Trace Memory, which I sort of liked, but for some reason it was a bit of a disappointment. I'm hoping Wish Room will be everything Trace Memory could have been but wasn't. Then there is Zettai Onkan Training DS which is supposed to teach you tone and pitch (and maybe you'll score a 100 next time you go karaoke-ing), and Teku Teku Angel Pocket which combines a digital pedometer + DS software to monitor steps and weight loss. I'm really interested in DS games which make creative use of the touch screen, but it also seems to me like the games out for the DS are much more thinking-outside-the-box than games for the PSP. Which is cool. And maybe if the price is right I'll even pick up Shaberu! DS Oryouri Navi which is a speaking cookbook, basically.
Ever since I got my DS I've been going cuckoo for videogames! I don't know why. But I have this huge list of games I want to get:
- Valkyrie Profile (PS1)
- Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria (PS2)
- Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (PSP) (I'm a sucker for Square RPGs)
- Kanji no Wataridori (DS)
- Contact (DS)
- Golden Sun: The Lost Age (GBA)
- Yggdra Union (GBA)
- Riviera (GBA)
- Gyakuten Saiban 2 (GBA)
- Gyakuten Saiban 3 (GBA)
- Doraemon: Nobita no Kyouryuu (DS)
- Mother 3 (GBA)
- Hudson Best Collection Vol. 1: Bomberman Collection (GBA)
- Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA)
- Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA)
- Famicom MiniSeries Vol. 1: Super Mario Bros. (GBA)
...et cetera. I was also curious about the new Nintendo bit Generations games but upon further study they seem a bit.. boring. But who knows, I could be wrong. I'm also interested in a game for DS that I don't think is out yet, called Wish Room (or in the US: Hotel Dusk: Room 215). Sigh, when I was younger I never had money to buy the games I wanted; now that I'm older (and slightly richer) there's TOO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM!!!
Yes! I finally finished 逆転裁判:蘇る逆転 (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney). That last case took forever! I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first, but the cases aren't half bad and some of them really made me scratch my head. At any rate, it scratched my itch for mysteries. Come to think of it, I haven't really read or seen anything really good in that genre...
I'm looking into getting Gyakuten Saiban 2 and 3 for the GBA but I wonder if they will remake them for the DS, like the first one, in which case I would wait. Also because it seems pretty hard to find a copy of GS2 at a decent price. And $20 for shipping?! 異議あり![edit: I just looked on the Japanese Wikipedia page and it looks like the DS remake of GS2 will be out in October of this year! SWEET.]
