I've been working a lot lately, so I've been making money, but now I don't have time to spend it. Or so I thought, until I saw these:
The first two of what will eventually be five! (The third will be out this September.) I'm so excited.
I also made a mixtape, here. Songs that are at least 10 years old.
Today was Easter Sunday, though that really doesn't mean anything to me since I'm not religious, and I've long since stopped enjoying hunting for vinegary, technicolor eggs. Oh, I guess there are bunnies, but whatever. Since I had the day off, I wanted to spend most of it lazing about in bed, but my family had other plans and by lunchtime we found ourselves picnicking in a park by the ocean. Seeing the sea is always nice, but spending time outdoors always makes me *yawn* tired. All I really want at this point is a decent night's rest.
So, as I've recently acquired a Felicia Blue PSP, I've been checking out some titles for the PSP and these two caught my eye:
The graphics are pretty simple, and it's completely in b&w, and dude look at it! It's like playing in an M.C. Escher drawing!
It comes with a camera so you can take pictures of your clothes, and it can supposedly keep track of your closet and you can even coordinate outfits. It seems to have a lot of fun little features like finding what colors suit you best, create graphs of your inventory based on color, type and season, and even a love-indicator thing and horoscopes, etc.
I always walk out feeling a little smug after a bit of clever shopping. Tonight I picked up:
- Los Abandoned - Mixtape (free!)
- Silversun Pickups - Carnavas (10.99)
- Air - Moon Safari (10.00)
- My Favorite - The Kids Are All Wrong EP (0.99)
I'd been meaning to pick up Carnavas for a while so I was happy to finally get it, but I am really loving the Los Abandoned album right now. Cute girl vocals + casio-pop + crunchy guitars + lyrics en inglés y espanish = AMOR. And they have a song called 'Stalk U' how could I not like them? And what a cute shirt:
Mika took me to see Joanna Newsom tonight and I have to say I rather enjoyed the concert. I wasn't sure what to expect because she sometimes does this weird thing with her voice but I thought she was really good tonight. And it was nice to see a harpist take center stage.
The other day I was at Virgin and I found this cd that was released by 4AD and I knew nothing about him but for some reason I was really curious... I mean, with a nerdy title like IBM 1401, A User's Manual, and it's on 4AD??? it sounded fabulous. and I'm listening to some of his stuff on his website and it's pretty good. I think it is time for me to finish weeding out my cd collection and turn stuff in for some store credit at Amoeba. Iceland is definitely securing its place in my list of countries that produce my favorite music (along with the UK and Canada).
Then I got my Amazon order today of Seinfeld Season 7 and a Camera Obscura cd-- only to open the cd case and find that there is no cd. So I have to get that replaced. But I started browsing a bit on amazon and saw that Jarvis's cd is out, and now there are deluxe editions of Different Class, His 'n' Hers, and This Is Hardcore. The hefty pricetag makes me hesitate, but then again, there isn't much current music that excites me these days so who knows. AND there is a Peel Sessions cd out for Pulp AND Gene. Is it terrible that xmas is fast-approaching and I can only think of buying stuff for myself?
So because I am miserable at work these days I have been seeking solace in an old habit: internet shopping. Result:
Thanks to a sale at DDD, I got the complete series box set for $143! It was a very exciting purchase.
