I love the new M83, and the cover is great too. I was starving after work tonight but I made a detour into hollywood to pick it up at Amoeba.
I've been working a lot lately, so I've been making money, but now I don't have time to spend it. Or so I thought, until I saw these:
The first two of what will eventually be five! (The third will be out this September.) I'm so excited.
I also made a mixtape, here. Songs that are at least 10 years old.

I saw Ms. Cho on Saturday night and I just could not stop laughing the whole time she was on stage. This was my first time seeing her and I'm kinda sorry it took me so long to get on this bandwagon. She was raunchy and gross and beautiful and so fucking funny. Liam Sullivan opened and I had no idea who he was until he came on as his alter-ego Kelly (of "Let Me Borrow That Top" and "Shoes" fame). There was this couple sitting in front of us who seemed completely out of place. The whole time I didn't see them laugh or clap once. Why where they there?! It must be terrible to go through life without a sense of humor. I kid, I kid.
Today was Easter Sunday, though that really doesn't mean anything to me since I'm not religious, and I've long since stopped enjoying hunting for vinegary, technicolor eggs. Oh, I guess there are bunnies, but whatever. Since I had the day off, I wanted to spend most of it lazing about in bed, but my family had other plans and by lunchtime we found ourselves picnicking in a park by the ocean. Seeing the sea is always nice, but spending time outdoors always makes me *yawn* tired. All I really want at this point is a decent night's rest.
So, as I've recently acquired a Felicia Blue PSP, I've been checking out some titles for the PSP and these two caught my eye:
The graphics are pretty simple, and it's completely in b&w, and dude look at it! It's like playing in an M.C. Escher drawing!
It comes with a camera so you can take pictures of your clothes, and it can supposedly keep track of your closet and you can even coordinate outfits. It seems to have a lot of fun little features like finding what colors suit you best, create graphs of your inventory based on color, type and season, and even a love-indicator thing and horoscopes, etc.
I fell out of bed last night for the first time since I was a kid. The other night I think I had an instance of sleep paralysis. I don't seem to be sleeping the whole night through without some kind of medicinal aid. What's going on with my sleep?
I tried keeping a list of the books and films I watched this year. I'm pretty sure I didn't miss any...

So I was trying to think of my favorites for 2007 and I think it's sadly been a bad year for movies. I can't think of too much that I was impressed by, other than Ratatouille, Lust Caution, Sweeney Todd, Darjeeling Limited, and Blades of Glory. But here are my picks for best albums of 2007. (If there are some obviously glaringly obvious omissions it may be that I just haven't gotten around to fully listening to them yet.. like Explosions in the Sky or Radiohead.)
1. The National - Boxer. Ironically this is the one band that I missed seeing live this year. But this album slowly crept up on me and all of a sudden I found myself loving it. The music is pretty good, though at first listen I sort of dismissed them as another Interpol ripoff. But after several more listens I started to enjoy the songs, and after listening to the lyrics I felt like I could relate, and perhaps that explains why I like this album so much. On amazon.com I saw a 1-star review titled: "Never trust anyone over 30." (referring to the other 4- and 5-star reviewers) And perhaps that sort of sums it up. To me it feels like the themes on these songs deal with the disillusionment of growing up and becoming an adult and having to the face the reality that things haven't ended up quite the way you thought they would when you were younger. And that's a pain that I can feel, whereas an early twenty-something me might not have. We're so disarming darling, everything we did believe/ is diving, diving, diving, diving off the balcony. -from "Apartment Story."
2. Patrick Wolf - The Magic Position
3. Ming & Ping - Causeway Army
4. Stars - In Our Bedroom After the War
5. Sigur Rós - Hvarf/Heim
6. LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
7. The Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
8. DNTEL - Dumb Luck
9. Electrelane - No Shouts, No Calls
10. Peter Bjorn & John - Writer's Block
Honorable mentions:
11. Bright Eyes - Cassadaga
12. The Shins - Wincing the Night Away
13. Blonde Redhead - 23
14. Gruff Rhys - Candylion
15. múm - Go Go Smear the Poison Ivy
16. Siouxsie - Mantaray
17. Menomena - Friend and Foe
18. The Long Blondes - Someone to Drive You Home
19. Interpol - Our Love to Admire
20. Rilo Kiley - Under the Blacklight
